Sazman-i Azadibakhsh-i Mardum-i Afghanistan (SAMA) [ID 708]
Afghanistan People’s Liberation Organisation – SAMA Founded around 1978 by Majid Kalakani, which was a fusion of a number of left-wing groupings The “SAMA” manages the spectacularly concerted campaign to prompt military bases in Hussain Kut (north of Kabul) and the Paktia province to offer resistance together, whereby the party becomes more popular. After the detention of Majid Kalakanis in Kabul in March 1980 by Khad (State Intelligence Services) agents and his execution the SAMA is weakened seriously, but does not stop undertaking guerrilla-operations. Members: educated classes of Kabul, but also rural population and members of ethnic minorities
