Revolutionary Group of the Peoples of Afghanistan (RG) [ID 707]
Revolutionary Group of the Peoples of Afghanistan (RG) Founded 1978 by Dr. Faiz Ahmad after the “PYO” failed to respond to the criticism of its deficiencies and failures Members: apparently especially former “Shulayis” [flamists] Ideology: Ahmad’s party follows the political doctrines of the “PYO”, but wants to be more successful than those Contrary to the “PYO” the “Revolutionary Group” is structured brilliantly and its members are disciplined. Within its endeavour to correct the failures caused by the “PYO”, that in classical Marxist tradition mostly agitated workers, the “Revolutionary Group” now overdoes the reprogramming of its cadres and sends them all to the countryside to work with farmers. At the same time the party focuses on the battle against the Moscow-orientated Taraki regime and agrees to a purpose pact with Ismalists to combat the mutual enemy: the “Ikhwanis” in the name of Allah and with support of the USA, Pakistan and Saudi-Arabia, the “Shulays” further on in their struggle against “revisionism and social imperialism” without foreign support.
